NO RESERVATIONS
The anti-reservation movement currently sweeping India is, on balance,completely justified.So much (and increasing) reservation of seats in higher centres of learning for so long is sure to turn the country into a mediocre nation.
Those teaching in IIMs, IITs and higher Medical Institutes are no doubt aware of the difficulties of maintaining high standards of teaching and evaluation in groups containing high differences in intellectual capabilities.Increasing quota reservations will aggravate the situation and bring down further the overall standards.India will suffer in excellence.
The only affirmative action justified in institutes of higher learning is to prefer candidates from backward sections when other things are equal.
The enpowerment and upward mobility of backward sections should be achieved by other means like encouragement at school level by liberal dose of monetary incentives including generous scholarships.
The above should be clear to those responsible for taking decisions concerning the issue.Unfortunately, it appears, other considerations come in , pulling the country downwards by those whose resposibility it is to give a big push upwards to the country.

for example,must be promoted and so must be the
ability to work anywhere.Human labour in this context
must be able to move without frontiers like the trade
between nations.
